What is REF FM FOUNDATION?
We are a Dutch foundation. We help refugees establish their own radio station. To give them a voice and the power to change their lives for the better. Their sizzling programs full of music, entertainment, news, and uplifting talk shows, are the epic center of positive vibes that transform refugee camps from within.
How can I start a REF FM radio station?
If your organization has been (pro)active in a larger refugee camp for a longer period of time, and if you want to set up a community-based radio station for/by refugees, and would like to use our help for this, please contact us by email: partnerwith@ref-fm.online.
And don't forget to mention your name, the name of your organization, your contact details (telephone and email address), the name of the refugee camp, and don't forget to include the latest annual report of your organization.
How can I help?
You can Join us by offering your skills, by advertising on REF FM stations, or by making a structural donation for new stations. We welcome expertise in media production (especially radio), project management, entrepreneurship, and social media. Your contributions can help us empower refugees through community-based radio stations.
How do I donate?
If you would like to know more about possibilities to contribute financially to setting up a new REF FM radio station in a refugee camp, or even consider adopting a new station (max 100,000 euros), please send us an email (donate@ref-fm.online) and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Where are the stations?
In (chronological order) refugee camp Kakuma-Kalbeyei in Kenya, in refugee camp Bidibidi in Uganda, on Ukerewe Island in Tanzania, in refugee camp Kyangwali in Uganda, near refugee camp Mahama in Rwanda, in Den Bosch city in The Netherlands.
Can I volunteer?
We welcome expertise in media production (especially radio), project management, entrepreneurship, and social media. Send your CV to volunteer@ref-fm.online and indicate whether you want to volunteer from home or on site, how much time you have available for volunteering and what type of volunteer work you are looking for.
