Welcome at REF FM UKEREWE 107.3FM. We are the first community-based radio station on Ukerewe, an island in Lake Victoria in Tanzania where people with albinism have fled because they are still discriminated against so severely.

Your story our voice

The station is run by people with albinism and other inhabitants of the island. It aims to encourage the acceptance of people with albinism. They can be seen as refugees, fleeing killings for black magic. Our station aims to foster peace and harmony between the communities and to give a platform to people with albinism to inspire others.
